That band split in 2008, with
Slash beginning work on a new solo album. Recruiting some all star backing, the Californian axe hero has spent considerable time on the tracks which feature a mouth watering cast.
Due for release in April,
Slash has confirmed several details about the new album. Self-titled it will feature some true rock royalty including fellow Californian, bass player Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Also played in Thom Yorke's solo band, Flea will be joined by punk pioneer Iggy Pop on the new Slash album.
Together, the pair are joined by former Guns N Roses guitarist Duff McKagan and current Them Crooked Vultures drummer Dave Grohl. Black Sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne will supply some guest vocals, lending his Brummie croon to the all star affair.
The eclectic affair mixes artists from several different genres. Motorhead singer Lemmy is due to appear alongside the rather more clean living Adam Levine of American soft rockers Maroon 5.
Famously debauched former member of Queens Of The Stone Age Nick Olivieri is due to appear, alongside reformed shock rocker Alice Cooper. Cypress Hill were involved in recording sessions but are not due to appear on the album.
